HARTLEY’S CROCODILE ADVENTURES

Hartley’s is all about wildlife! Take a boat cruise on Hartley’s Lagoon where crocodile sightings are guaranteed. Watch a crocodile lunge out of the water during pole feeding, see a live demonstration of the crocodile death roll and a head shake. See saltwater crocs, freshwater crocs and many other native animals such as the endangered cassowary. Various activities are schedules daily around the park, even have your photo taken with a python (small charge) or attend the 3pm Crocodile Attack Show. This afternoon trip departs Port Douglas 12:30pm and returns approximately 5:40pm.

BACK COUNTRY BLISS ADVENTURES– RIVER DRIFT SNORKELLING

As seen on the TV travel show 'Getaway', this new adventure is a must try! Picture the most beautiful, crystal clear rainforest river imaginable, and then see yourself drift snorkelling down with the gently moving current. Safe, fun and very relaxing. All wetsuits, snorkelling gear and water shoes are provided and an experienced instructor accompanies you on this unique journey. This half-day tour is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It’s recommended that you wear your swimmers for under the wetsuit and bring a towel and camera.

KUKU YALANJI- GUIDED ABORIGINAL RAINFOREST WALK

The Kuku Yalanji people are the indigenous inhabitants of the land that stretches from Cooktown to Port Douglas. They are the true rainforest people who live in harmony with the environment. Join an Aboriginal guide at the Mossman Gorge for a guided rainforest walk along private easy grade trails visiting special places and culturally significant sites. Let your guide demonstrate traditional plant use and identify bush tucker and after enjoy a didgeridoo performance. The art gallery stocks locally produced art and artefacts for purchase. You will be back at the hotel in time to enjoy a leisurely lunch or perhaps an afternoon on the beach.

LADY DOUGLAS LUNCH CRUISE

Board the classic paddle boat, Lady Douglas for a memorable cruise along Dickson Inlet in Port Douglas. The unspoilt mangrove channels are home to an array of wildlife including saltwater crocodiles (often spotted), sea eagles, kites, ospreys, kingfishers and waders. Be entertained by the interesting and informative commentary by the skipper and of course feast on the delicious buffet lunch which includes prawns, roast chicken, char grilled vegetables, salads, cheese and tropical fruit. 2 hour cruise from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

SCENIC HELICOPTER FLIGHT

Ever thought, “I’d like to do that one day…” then, today is the day! This exclusive flight will carry you over picturesque Port Douglas and its inspiring surrounds. Tour includes informative in flight commentary with local knowledge and history. Make sure to bring your camera to capture snaps of the beaches and countryside. Be back at the hotel for a leisurely lunch, stroll around the tropical gardens or relax poolside for the rest of the day.

Port Douglas is situated in beautiful tropical north Queensland, with the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest right at its doorstop. There are so many different options to enjoy in your spare time regardless of your age or fitness level. Port Douglas itself is a vibrant, friendly and inviting town and it’s an easy walk from your hotel or you can take advantage of the regular hotel shuttle service.


GOLFING ENTHUSIASTS

If you are a golfing enthusiast you are invited to register for the exciting SECTRA BIG Ambrose Golf Tournament on Wednesday 8th July at the Mirage Country Club. Cost $80 (Limit 96 players). Equipment can be hired from the Mirage Country Club. This will be a fun day with various prizes thanks to our sponsor SECTRA Pty Ltd.
